Died on a Visit to his Wife's Grave
William Sackett, of No. 2467 Seventh avenue, identified yesterday the
body of the man who died Thursday of hear disease on the steps of the
Sandman Hotel, White Plains Road, as that of his father, Charles Sackett.
The elder Sackett had left home to visit the grave of his wife in
Woodlawn and had stopped at the hotel for shelter during a thunder
storm. The body was removed from the morgue to the undertaker's.
A search of Ancestry.com
found death records that indicate Charles was
born about 1820 and died 27 May 1896 in Manhattan. 2467 Seventh Ave is
