Re: [RUDDLESFORT] Files from Virgina Government
by Freida Martin Shoemaker via
I apologize -- I used the wrong terminology -- I am seeking information
about the people who were taken prisoner in June 1780 and kept prisoner by
English soldiers and the Indian Tribes. I am seeking information about the
family of Joseph Hon, Mary Maria Hon and her children, reportedly 3
daughters and 1 son. I believe that Mrs. Hon was returned in 1785 and I
believe the son came back to Kentucky in 1795 or so. I am seeking
documentation of the date that Mrs. Hon and her daughters were returned.
Some of this is documented in the Ruddellsfort archives, however, I need to
know where this information, particularly Mrs. Hon's return, was first found
and by whom it was documented.
I hope you will excuse me for being so ignorant about all this but it is
relatively new to me; I was enthralled to locate the Rudellsfort archives
and have tried to read all of it but that will take a while for me to do.
Thanks to all of you for your help.
Freida

Ruddle's Mill came afterwards several years. The county in court order
books for Bourbon and Fayette I think all contain references. Maps
through the 1800s also show Ruddle's Mills.
