Greetings to all:
A Reunion planning meeting was held at noon, Dec. 12, at Biancke's
Rest. In Cynthiana. Present was Jon Hagee, Martha Pelfrey, Elizabeth Lee and
Myself. We set June 28, 2003, at 9AM as the date and time for the next
Ruddell & Martin Stations gathering. It will be at the 4H fairgrounds in
Cynthiana. The Building has been reserved for that Date. We discussed the
format for the meeting. Speakers were suggested and discussed and it was
decided to invite Mel Hankla to be our key speaker, He does and excellent
portrayal of Simon Kenton. We discussed the ceremonies on the Stations Sites
and talked about having members of Clark's Illinois Regiment do an encampment
and demonstrations of life during that time. We will invite Charles
Donaldson, a Bagpiper, from the Covington Police Dept., to take part in the
placing of the Wreath. He does a tremendous "Amazing Grace." We also
discussed making presentations of the Ruddell & Martin Story at History
Classes in area Schools. The need for better publicity was discussed and ways
to accomplish this. We also decided to have another meeting of the planning
committee to be held at 1 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Biancke's. This
meeting is open to all members of the association and you are cordially
invited to attend and help in the planning. We also need people to serve on
the publicity committee. If you would like to do that please let me know. We
are open to all suggestions. If you have any ideas we would be glad to
discuss them at the next meeting. Remember! This is your organization.
Elizabeth & I and the rest of the Officers of RAMSHA wish to extend to you A
