Hi Jack,
From "Sandwich, a Cape Cod Town" by R A Lovell (Available from the town
clerk of Sandwich for $25.00):
"About 1650, two young brothers and three sisters arrived at Sandwich
with an older lady, Sarah Perry, possibly their mother or stepmother. All
five married in the period 1651 to 1654. Ezra Perry married Elizabeth Burgess
and settled on the Burgess lands in the Monomet River sector, which included
the old trading post site. His four sons married and this branch of the
family grew rapidly. They were of the conservative group in the town. In
contrast was Edward Perry who married Mary Freeman and soon was deeply
involved in the Quaker movement. Edward also had a large family, three sons
and six daughters. One son remained in Sandwich, Edward Jr., and the other
sons removed to Rhode Island. The Edward Perry descendants remained here
only in female lines of Wing and Gifford. Both Ezra and Edward Perry had
many distinguished descendants."
