Hi Listers,
I have still been unable to determine if my gggrandfather Solomon Phillips was born in
Rhode Island, when he may have been born, and who his parents were. According to his
Revolutionary War Pension application he was born about 1760.
A couple of listers previously sent me information on the will of a David Phillips of
Glocester - probated 11/4/1797, pgs. 362-363. Mentions wife Susannah Burgess and
children he left - sons: Seth. Joseph, Solomon, David, Caleb, Anthony, John, Stephon,
Aaron and Andrew. Daughters: Elizabeth Bartlett, Deborah Steere desc., Ruth Phettplace
and Susannah Whipple. David Phillips married Susannah in Glocester, RI on 4-19-1741. She
was his second wife, the first being Ruth Benson.
I have been unable to determine the birth information for any of the children and
especially Solomon. He was in the Massachusetts line in the Revolutionary War and he died
in Vermont in 1839. But according to his War Pension Application he was born in Rhode
Island. Can any one help me on this request or give me guidance on where I need search?
Thank you very much and happy holidays one and all.
Roger Phillips
