Pat,
If you get any info where GAR post records might be found I'd appreciate hearing about
it! I'm still trying to identify a group of JP Nichols GAR post in Rockland, RI
gentlemen. It is my understanding that the post would close when the last member died and
that last member would have the records........I've had no luck so far locating any.

Subject: [RI] John Hurley -- State Board of Soldiers Relief (Rhode Island)
I'm researching John Hurley, Civil War Veteran from Providence, R.I. He was
a 2nd class fireman aboard the Lackawanna in the Battle of Mobile Bay. He
was a member of the G.A.R. Bucklin Post #20
Does anyone know where the files for the State Board of Soldiers Relief
(Rhode Island) and the Bucklin Post could be found? I'm looking for files
in the 1899 - 1916 period.
Thanks,
Pat
