Hi Jay -
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you -
You never mentioned your person's name,
so I don't know if this will help you, but at the
Irish of Southern New England web pages, there
is an effort to record this cemetery.

Providence
St. Patrick
Corner of Douglas and Chad Brown
Providence, RI 02908
phone: (401) 724-3130
If your person was indigent, he may not have a stone,
of course, but you never know....
Have you contacted the cemetery itself? The people
who work there are generally very knowledgeable about
what is where in their cem. Maybe there is a section there
set aside for the people from the Little sisters?
If they have the burial books at the cem. office, maybe you
can look through them, starting with 1902, when your person
left the home.
Have you visited the American French Genealogy society?
They have many published records for deaths in RI - churches,
cemeteries, funeral homes....
www.afgs.org
How about city directories? Have you found your person
before he went to the home? Maybe you need to look for
the records of some of his relatives?
I can't think of anything else at the moment, so I hope someone
else will chime in here.
Lisa

Subject: [RIGENWEB] Little Sisters Conundrum
Lisa,
Relative was a patient from 1897 to Jan 1902.
That's the only information Little Sisters could give
me. Just a line from a ledger.
I have heard the arrangement to bury residents was in
St Patrick's cemetery in Prov.
Diocese of Prov Cemeteries office would need a date of
death to look up burials--I have none. There is none
to be found in the state, town, or Little Sisters.
[If your relative was not a nun, chances are the
little sisters would
have had an arrangement to bury their residents
somewhere.
Someone at the Little Sisters should be able to point
you in
the right direction.]
