Hello everyone,
Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I apologize for the long query but thought it
better to leave it all tied together then send it out in pieces.
Mirriam/Meriam Hazen daughter of Christopher Hazen married Abiathar Rodman in
1797 in South Kingston, RI.. They were in Rhode Island until before 1820 and
then settled in Marlborough, CT. An early census (I think 1820) showed there
were 11 in the family. (His name shows up as Abrathar, Abiathar, Biatha,
etc.) Abiathar died after 1830 census in Conn. but before 1840. Conn. 1830
census showed 5 in the family. Two children 20-30, al male and a female and then
a female 15-20. Can;t find his death in Conn. Did he die in RI? Meriam
Hazen and her youngest daughter returned to South Kingston, RI before 1840. The
daughter Mary Ann or Miriam Rodman married John D. Card, a shoemaker in Sought
Kingston, RI. The mother (Meriam Rodman) lived with the Card's until she died
1860's(?).
What is known of Christopher Hazen - parents, wife and children including the
above Meriam Hazen? Does anyone know more about the Rodman family -
Children of Meriam and Abiathar Rodman born in South Kingston, RI and finally death
info on Meriam Rodman (South Kingston), her daughter Miriam or Mary Ann Card
and where buried, etc.
Meriam and Abiathar Rodman's children may include a Christopher Greene
Rodman, Mary Jane Rodman who married Orrin Dickinson, Martha Rodman who married
George Holcomb of Simsbury and William Rodman who married Silence Haling from
Chatham, CT. daughter of Mathew Haling and Silence Bailey. Haling and Bailey info?
Thanks so much.
