This isn't my family & I can't help much but the diocese of Providence has
recently started to put burial information on line for the cemeteries they own so I
thought I'd take a look for your great-grandparents & see if their burials could
be located.
With the following information, you could create memorials for them in the Find A Grave
database for the cemetery and then request a photo of the grave site. With luck, when the
weather breaks & spring settles in, perhaps a volunteer will get out to the cemetery,
take a pix and attach it to your memorial. It's one way of visiting a family
gravesite that one might not otherwise get to travel to and sometimes, there will be other
information/names on the headstones that can lead to other discoveries of family members
or answer questions regarding family relationships.

Mr. Pasquale Palmisciano DOD 12/22/1942 Sec. 53 Lot 0125 Grave 2
Mrs. Maria Cristina Palmisciano DOD 12/06/1968 Sec. 53 Lot 0125 Grave 2
Since they are in Grave 2 in this lot, there has to be a grave 1 so I did a search by
section and lot. This appears to be a big family lot with 6 graves. 6 grave lots were
available in the cemeteries at one point, my own family has one where my grandparents
& some of their sons w/spouses are found.
Dates are DOD unless otherwise specified followed by cemetery section, lot and grave #.
Some more recent deaths also mention the funeral home that handled the funeral. Where
there are 2 dates, the earlier one is DOD and the later one is date of burial.

"St. Francis Cemetery (Pawtucket) - At this time, the availability to purchase a new
grave or lot at Saint Francis Cemetery no longer exists. However, there are many lots
which are owned by families that still have room for the burial of loved ones. There is
also availability for in-ground cremation burials and columbaria for cremated remains. To
find a burial location with St. Francis Cemetery, please click here. "

The later deaths after Dec 1983 might have obits on line in the archived issues of the
Providence Journal newspaper. Unfortunately, my library just dropped their ProQuest
subscription due to budgetary reasons so I can no longer access the Providence Journal on
line archives with my library bar code. The only public library I know of now in the
state that still subscribes to ProQuest is the Providence Public Library.
If you want obit, there are two ways.
For the recent ones aka post Dec 1983, you could request someone with a PPL card look them
up on line for you.
And for the older ones, pre Dec 1983 which would require an in person look-up from the
microfilms at the PPL, you could either request a look-up here on the boards.
Any location you've found these people either living (censuses, city directories) or
in death that is north of the City of Warwick & on the western side of Narragansett
Bay would be the Providence County Board and most probably all these people lived/died in
Providence County based on their burials being in St. Francis so try all obit posts there
for starters. There are some people in the city of Providence area who do seem to fulfill
requests for PPL in person look-ups.
Philip Hulitar & Mariam Hosp. are Providence County.
Or, since you have DODs, you could contact the Reference Services of the Providence Public
Library and request obit copies. The last time I used that service, the cost was a $5
service fee which covered look-ups/copies of 3 obits & 1 marriage announcement and 20¢
per page of copy made from the Providence newspaper microfilms. You'd need to check
with the PPL to determine the current charges.
One thing I did discover on a research trip to the PPL is that the Providence Journal used
to be 2 editions - Providence Journal which was the morning paper and the Providence
Evening Bulletin which was the evening paper. The only difference I found that would
affect my purposes with wanting obits is that the microfilms for the Evening Bulletin had
less wear on them and were more likely to be scratch free than the films for the
corresponding morning edition of the Journal.
My advice if your contacting the PPL-Reference Services for obit copies would be that you
request the copies be made from the Evening Bulletin to lessen your chances of getting a
copy from a film full of scratches & wear.
Good luck.
