I'm glad to have found this one, too! I am quite curious if I am related to one of the
Eusebe Guilmains in this thread. My great-grandfather, Frank J. Gilman, was married in
Kingston, NH and the listing shows his parents as "Eusebe Gilman" and
"Elibena Jacques." From what I've been told, I'm pretty sure the family
name spelling was changed at some point -- if it was the French side coming from Canada,
that seems like it would be roughly the correct time frame.
Frank was born in the 1870's, but I suspect that the Eusebe Guilmain mentioned in this
thread could perhaps have been his brother...? There is a Eusebe Guilmain born 15 November
1850 who could perhaps have been the father of both of them; I can't find any
information about his descendants, if any. That Eusebe Guilmain is son of yet another
Eusebe Guilmain (b. ~1825) and Marie Lavalley (married 1843).
