Thanks Betty.
I found in 1880 census in Foster, Providence, Rhode Island:
Everett A. Lewis 24
Lydia C. Lewis 23
Bertha G. Lewis 3
Then in 1900 found 2 references to Bertha:
Home in 1900:Providence Ward 8, Providence, Rhode Island
George Howes 34
Lydia C Howes 41
Bertha G Lewis 22
Home in 1900:Pawtucket Ward 3, Providence, Rhode Island
Prince M Dexter 50
Evelyn A Dexter 44
Bertha G Lewis 22
Find a Grave shows her buried with Prince M Dexter and Evelyn (whose maiden name was Lewis
- and also other side of monument has her father Everett A. Lewis who d. 1889.
This monument is in Mineral Spring Cemetery, Pawtucket RI
That was my basis for believing Bertha never married. Her death date was not visible on
the monument.
Since in the 1900 census she lists only 1 living child, I realized that there would be no
living descendants of Lydia. That means I would need to research more carefully her
siblings.
I posted in the hope that someone had knowledge of the Bailey family line and would know
if there are living descendants.
