January, 1868. page 169.
"Resolution conferring jurisdiction upon the Town Council of Foster,
trustees, to allow the removal of certain dead bodies.
Upon the petition of Huldah Brayton, of Johnston, praying for reasons
therein stated, that she be authorized and empowered to remove the
bodies of her late husband, John Brayton, of her four children, the
child of the said Brayton by a former wife, and the body of said former
wife, from the Brayton burying ground, in said Foster, to the Tyler
burying ground.
Voted and Resolved, That the prayer of the said petition be, and the
same is, hereby so far granted, that the town council of the town of
Foster be, and the same is, hereby authorized in its discretion, after
notice and hearing of the parties in interest, to permit the said Huldah
to remove the said bodies as prayed for."
Huldah Brayton, widow, is listed in the 1877 Tax Book for Johnston,
paying $20 in taxes on $4000 personal income
