Parts of Fall River, Rehoboth and Attleboro were part of RI prior to
the
Civil War. It's possible that part of Swansea was part of RI before the
land
swap. You might try comparing maps of the states prior to 1860.

Can someone tell me if Freetown Ma was ever a part of RI? I am trying to
find record of my grgrgrandmother Phebe or Phoebe Terry who was born
about
1794. She lived to 1880 and died in Albany Co NY, but no death record. I
have the death records of several of he children and they all say she was
born RI. Her parents were Philip or Phillip and wife Betsy Mason Terry of
Swansea Ma. The family moved to NY state probably about 1800. Would
appreciate
any help.
