Hi Barb,
I do not have that address but I did get my copy printed by Higginson's in Salem, MA. They print to order so it can take 12 weeks, but you do not have to wait for enough orders to be submitted.

Does anyone have the address of the folks who were going to reprint
this book when they had enough orders? I seem to have misplaced
the info and have someone who wants to be added to the list.
Thanks, Barb Austin

Every historic gravestone on Aquidneck Island has been photographed (with a
few
exceptions) and
to my knowledge, there is only one Sutton. She was the wife of John Baly
(Bailey later)
buried in Middletown in the Bailey lot and died in 1730.

Hello Patricia,
You're looking for Sutton (___) (Brown) Bailey, I guess. I've tried
without success to identify her, so will be very interested to know what if
anything you're able to find.
I don't think there was any set pattern of naming in early RI. Often
there seems to be a surprising disconnect with earlier generations from
England. The earliest settlers there were from somewhat varied backgrounds,
so you don't find the set patterns the Dutch or Scots tended to use.

Hi Arlene, Sutton/Sutten is a given name of a woman who was a
daughter-in-law of Nicholas Brown of Portsmouth. who died December
1694. He remained in Portsmouth after arriving on Aquidneck by 1638
and perhaps a little earlier. I have not learned his occupation,
though his properties do not include any on the shore - only along
the oldest roads. But I will keep your information close by, in case
I find another clue! Thanks for responding. Patricia

Good morning! I am hoping you who have researched the following
families in Aquidneck can tell me if one of them had a daughter named
Sutten/Sutton:
EASTON, SANFORD, CORNELL, WILBUR, HICKS, HUTCHINSON, BRENTON,
SHERMAN, JENNINGS, MOORE, HAWKINS
These were the nearest neighbors to property owned by Nicholas BROWN
and FIRST wife ____?_____ (second wife, Frances Parker, married
Nicholas after all children were born)
If you have information about ANY family with a daughter Sutten/
Sutton, I would be happy to learn that!
Thank you for checking your files. Patricia
Greetings! Can someone tell me whether it is possible, in 1636-1639
RI, to determine names of parents or grandparents from the names of
children?
For instance, for whom would the first son be named? The second
son? The third son? An only daughter? Thanks for your help. Patricia
Karl,
I searched my database. I found a reference to a Matthew Hazard Wilcox.
Hopkinton TCP, Vol 1, film 0931571
p 43, will of George Wilcox late of Exeter now residing in Hopkinton
dated 3 May 1760.
son: George Wilcox. two sons: Jeremiah Wilcox, Matthew Hazard Wilcox
wife: Margret [Margaret] Wilcox
two eldest dau: Marcy Tanner and Mary Tanner
four youngest dau: Margret, Hannah, Marvel, and Theoda Wiulcox
Witn: Mary Richmond, Content Richmond, Stephen Richmond
Can't find the date proved. Perhaps in 1761.
I couldn't find any that fit in Arnold.

I have been searching for a long time for Hazard Wilcox's true father
and place of birth (1745).
I have found two fathers mentioned Edward and Stephen.
There are four or more place listed were he was born.
Exter, westerly, East Greenwich, North Kingstown, and South Kingstown.
Hazard was shot and killed at the Battle of Bennington. He was a
Loyalist.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me find this information.

Aiyee, Arlan,
Here we are back with old Constant. Look, since I am here in East
Greenwich, is there anything I can look up for you? I am right in town
and can look up the street to the Courthouse. Actually they now call it
the Town Hall, but us townies will always refer to it as the Courthouse
until there are none of us left. I know that Constant's name is
misconstrued in the old record book, but they don't allow even a mark
indicating it should be "Maguire" and not whatever it looked like. Not
that I blame them, who am I?
Fred
Arlan,
I have George Sweet, Jr. (born 28SEP1749) as married to Mrs. Mercy
(Cottrell) Macguire, daughter of John Cottrell, and wife of John Macguire.
But where did that come from? :-)

Gloria,
That is one of the mysteries
Your version shows up more often, it is probably the correct one, in his
will John Cottrell mentions Benjamin Sweet as son of Mercy Maguire
There are about 3 different versions of how she became known as Mercy
Maguire, one version is that John Maguire was an alias of George Sweet, Jr
What ever the case is it really does not matter to me, I thought I would ask
being as all of this Sweet info was going around
Thanks for your input

Does anyone know anything about Sullivan Sweet? He is listed on the 1830
census for Marlborough, CT.
There is a possibility he may have relocated to Coventry, CT. I have a map
dated 1869 that shows an S.M. Sweet, Shinglemaker.

Howdy Geneva, I have about 75 Tallman in my database. Peter Tallman b. 20 Feb. 1623 is my 9th g grandfather and Mary Tallman, b. 6, Oct. 1665 is my 6th g grandmother. Are you related to this branch of the Tallman Tree?
I also went to collage in Vermont, Norwich U, in Northfield. Is that why you are now in Florida? I know darn well that's why I am in S. Texas. No minus 30 degree days.

Looking for information on the Captain Gabriel Hicks home located just south
of Tiverton Four Corners on the main road that goes to Little Compton. The
house located on the lot appears to be of 18th century construction. The
house is on the east side and has the family burial plot of the Captain
Hicks family close to it. Elizabeth wife of Gabriel is the daughter of
Philip Cory and Comfort Hicks. The Philip Cory house and family burial plot
is just west of the Hicks place. We were there in 2004, and unfortunately I
did not find out if this house was the one occupied by the hicks family. If
anyone can help me with information on this house and family, it would
greatly be appreciated. I did take digital photos of the stones in the small
cemetery, so if anyone wanted copies, I sure could send to you.
