Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I have heard these programs carry only 8 generations. I have 3 surnames with
14 generations (counting my grandchildren; suppose I could leave them, my
children and myself out, still way more than 8. Anybody?? Also, nothing I
would need a physicist or brain surgeon to figure out, please!

Hello all:
I have a copy of the Death Register for Chauncey Asa Roberts. The following
information is contained in thr register.
Date of Death: August 13, 1919, which puts his birth date to September 1867
Age: 51 11 months 7 days
Place of Death: Branch Village North Smithfield
Parents : William Asa Roberts and Fanny L, Lsifford (can not make out last
name only guessing)
Found these records in the The Rhode Island Historical Cemeteries
Transcription Project: Do not have any idea if they are connected or not.
Is there any way I can check this information: Any body got any ideas?
ROBERTS WILLIAM M 1789c - 13 AUG 1867 SC184
ROBERTS FANNY 1789c - 24 SEP 1882 SC184
SC184 ROBERTS LOT SCITUATE [REMOVED TO ROCKLAND CEMETERY]
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Hi all,
I'm hoping there might be someone out there who knows where WILLIAM HERN of
Westerly was married? Actually, I'm interested in the name of the church. In
the mid 1700's there were 2 WILLIAM HERNS listed as freeman. I can't more
specific than at, sorry.
Thanks,
Linda
I am in the process of switching to The Master Genealogist. Not quite as
easy as some, but if you are seriously documenting what you are doing, it
looks like the best to me. I found it on: http://www.whollygenes.com/
There is a way to compare TMG to other programs, which looks generally
unbiased.

I am looking for opinions concerning genealogy software. I have used
Ultimate Family Tree, but am looking to see if there is something better.
Comments and/or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Responses directly to
my personal e-mail would probably be better.
Thank you in advance.

I will have to go back through my e-mails - the information I got back from
the guy, I believe I sent a copy through. I will double check.
If I recall all he had was the CD number.
The overall name index isn't of much use since it gives page numbers or
chapters of the "Arnold's" book.

The CD is scanned from the actual books. When this is done, it is not
everyname searchable. It is just like the books where you have to search
each part separately. If it had digitized text, we would be able to search
the entire database. For this reason, I prefer digitized text over scanned
materials.

Would someone be so kind as to give me the address of the RI Historical

Thanks,

For sure, I'll take digitized text any day. I guess it is a time-expense thing.
Really large works are usually imaged.

Yes, of course. You need a text file to use search engines. I assume, then, one
must use Adobe Acrobat to find information.

Hi Jon,
I found some (minute) information and I don't know if this helps, but on the
forms that I have it lists, Frank F. Mason of 611 Turks Road in Pawtucket,
posted a $1,500 bond to the American Security Company to become Administer
of my great grandfather's estate.
If I find anything further, I'll let you know.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any information on the Imp. Seamless Wire Company that was
in Providence in the 1920's? I wonder if it is still in operation or if it
was bought out or if it closed.
Thanks!!
Leslie
