Dragoons,
I was honoured and humbled this last week-end to have taken over the reins
as Colonel of our Regiment during superb Leliefontein events in Petawawa.
I would like to salute Jack Dangerfield for the excellent hand-over and to
recognize his outstanding contribution to the Regiment and especially for
his support of the Association and the Guild.I look forward to the challenge
of filling his boots.I had a chat with Dave Graham, your President, and with
many attendees representing chapters from across Canada and would like to
ask all to keep up the support locally and to attend in June the reunion in
Petawawa.
The Regiment looked terrific and are extremely active having been subjected
just prior to rehearsal to a brigade bug-out to test their sense of humour.
It proved quite worthy. The CO, LCol Dean Milner, has a tremendous challenge
over the next years as there are several major changes contemplated, but a
heavy training schedule and his sound leadership will see the regiment
focused and healthy through this in fine Dragoon style.
Though it is now snowing throughout Ontario... Saturday was a most terrific
day to be a Dragoon...from the Old Guard to the cadets...the whole family
was there.
Regards to all!
Clive Addy
