Howdy
Following is what I was trying to send ,Jack Morgan is a reporter in NF,the John he
refers to is Jack Scott a former Dragoon.
Good day folks,
I just experienced one of the proudest moments in recent times. In a huge surprise,
Cpl. Matthew Dicks came by to The office this morning. If you remember , he was the
seriously injured soldier in Afghanistan who gave the famous "Tarmac Salute" to
his fallen comrades the day after the incident. He's back on the Rock after 6
operations and months of Physiotherapy. And better yet he's a proud 24 year old Royal
Canadian Dragoon.
John doesn't Know yet, but I am either going to surprise him and take Matthew to his
home or ask John to go to the young soldiers home---- Tomorrow.
Matthew will be home until September 10Th and then he heads back to Petawawa. He was
working the last couple of weeks in a kind of ease back program.
He doesn't remember the explosion or anything that happened after until a couple of
hours before the tarmac ceremony when they told him of his fallen comrades. He
"REQUESTED" to go to the tarmac and was obliged by the brass.
Cpl. Dicks is walking well, is very upbeat and said " I would go back to
Afghanistan tomorrow, if I could". However, that is not going to happen.
Will send you a picture Monday
What a great surprise---a very proud moment!!!!
Red, if you would like to send him a message, please forward to this email address i
will see that he receives it right away...he is staying with his Mom right across the
street from our office.
God Bless,
Jack Morgan.
