MURPHY, Major Francis John Murphy BA., MA., PSC., CD. - Born June 23, 1918 in Sandwich,
Ontario. (Teacher at Assumption College, Windsor, WW II veteran and distinguished military
career 1942-1968, retired as Major with the Royal Canadian Dragoons, Senior Administrator
with the Ontario Ministry of Correctional Services and a life member of the Knight's
of Columbus.) Died peacefully at home in the presence of the love of his life Marie Louise
(Baragar) Murphy on Aug 11, 2007. Seventh child of William (Bill) Joseph Murphy and Emma
Helen Mailloux. Predeceased by siblings: Kathleen Pickard, Bill Murphy, Norman Murphy,
Irene Thomson, Leo Murphy, Edith McMahon, Eleanor Murphy. Survived by sister Margaret
(Megs Murphy) and Edward (Bud) Erwin of Cookeville, Tenn; and Brother/Sister-in-Law Robert
(Bob) and Dorothy Baragar; Daughters: Martha Clarke and her children, Andrew, Diane (her
partner Kirk), Sarah & Christine; RitaSue & Curt Bolton and their children Tim
(his partner Misty) and Caela; Raven-Leigh Winwood and her daughter Nina; Irene and John
Wright Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME (Clapperton and Worsley
St.), Barrie on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Rosary and Parish prayers during evening
visitation. Funeral Mass from St. Mary's Church, Barrie on Wednesday August 15th at
10:00 am. Interment of cremated remains St. Mary's Cemetery, Barrie. Special thanks
to: Father Frank of St Mary's Catholic Church, Dr Peter Kizoff and his staff, the
staffs of CCAC, Bayshore Home Health, Canadian Red Cross Society and Bee, whose caring and
compassion made a tremendous contribution to assisting us in allowing Frank to pass on in
