We have received several requests lately for information on The Canadian
Army Trophy and the participation in this tank competition by the Royal
Canadian Dragoons. Mr. David Eason is presently writing a book on the
history of the Canadian Army Trophy and is hoping for some assistance in his
research. Mr. Rob Kuenen at Royal Netherlands Military Academy is preparing
an exhibition which will open in September 2003.
Due to Operational commitments in the past year and the two major Operations
happening in the next few months we have been unable to man the RCD Archives
full-time. Cpl Mike Maczko is back in the Archives full-time now and is
currently working on accessioning more photos, many of which cover CAT '81,
'83, and '87. We have some photos of CAT '77 and '79 also. It will be
possible to quickly photocopy the short articles in those yearbooks, if
required. We also have some news clippings for those years. I hope that we
will be able to compile a list soon of what we have digital copies of and
forward them to the different researchers. We do not have many 3D items in
the Regiment's Collection, so if anyone has badges or patches from any of
these events, their donation would be greatly appreciated.
I am including the requests from a couple of the researchers, with their
email addresses, so that people may communicate with them directly and
assist them in their search.

He is also looking for photos of the Centurion firing, and the Leopard (C1)

From Rob Kuenen at Royal Netherlands Military Academy:
Dear sirs,
Through the "official" site of the Royal Canadian Dragoons I finally got
your email-address, as being able to help me on information regarding the
Canadian Army Trophy. See correspondence below.
I am working on a reunion/exhibition on 40-year CAT (Canadian Army Trophy).
I am also making a display with foreign unit patches. From 1987 I have a
blue patch of the Canadian Dragoons, and also a white one. Which colors
exist? Are there other patches for the other years? Is there a way to obtain
these patches?
Besides the patches I am looking for information like designer, factory,
amount made, ...
I am also looking for regulations, armlets, etc.
Can you help me with additional information, patches, or names from people
who can help me with this enquiry.
Kind regards,
Rob Kuenen
