Dragoons,
The time is drawing near when we will be meeting in Canada's First Capital
City. I am pleased to be able to tell you that 11 of our Associations
Members (all over 80) who fought in the Battle to Liberate Holland will be
in attendance to listen to the Vice Consul of the Netherlands speak about
the 60th Anniversary of the Liberation of Holland.
I am disappointed that I have not been able to encourage more of you to
attend Reunion 2005, I had a vision of 300. However, all is not lost, I am
still hopeful that the delivery of the "Dragoon" will produce a surge of
registrations.
Additionally I am asking you to spread the "word", and a copy of a
registration form if required, to those who do not have access to e-mail.
You can also help by checking the reunion site to see which of your friends
has not registered and try to encourage them to join you in Kingston. It
is not too late! The Hotel will continue to offer the "Dragoons" preferred
rate until June 16th or until they run out of rooms.
Registrations:

Ambassador Hotel
Renovations are complete and the hotel looks great. Some of the
facilities: Pool with a 100 foot Slide, Sauna, Steam room, Exercise room,
Games room. There are so many facilities in the hotel you may want to book
and an extra night just to use them. Wait until you check out the "Coke"
machine that you can call with your cell phone for a coke.
Vegetarian Meal
The Vegetarian meal for Saturday dinner will be "Pasta Shells, Stuffed with
Ricotta, Mozzarella, Romano Cheese in Marinara Sauce. So far I only have
one request for the vegetarian meal. I must have your request no later
than June 1, 2005.
Ladies Activities:
The Boat Tour (Thousand Island Cruise) is a "GO" as we have over the
minimum number (20) to qualify as a "group". There has been very little
interest in the "City Tour" and "Shopping" therefore we will not be
organizing these as a group event but will provide information and
direction (registration desk) to anyone who wishes to go on their own.
Cruise options and prices:
a) 1 and 1/2 hour w and w/o lunch, ( $41.00 / $21.00) and
b) 3 hour w and w/o lunch. ($46.00 / $25.00 ) Both prices include land
transportation, taxes and gratuities.
The lunch is a set three course affair which may be a little heavy
considering dinner is at 7:00 pm. We are looking into a lighter option. I
would appreciate some "feed back" (ASAP) from a few ladies who are
planning on going on the cruise in regard to the lunch and their preferred
cruise 1 and 1/2 hour or the 3 hour cruise. Your response will assist us in
deciding which cruise to book. Cruises depart at 11:00 am.
Dress:
Several people have asked about dress. We do not have a "Dress Code" but
the norm in the past has been "Casual" (slacks and shirt) for the Meet &
Greet on Friday and jacket and tie ( Civilian or Blues & Greys) for
Saturday dinner
Hotel Room Reduced rates:
Our contract with the Ambassador Hotel only guarantees our reduced room
rates until 17 May 05. However they have said that they would continue to
provide these rates after that date on a "if available" basis.
Ambassador Hotel Tool Free # is 1-800-661-9804
