Gents
I had a great experience. I went to visit an old friend Mark Lehuquet and his family.
After the initial laughter of our foolish days of teeny bopping in Montreal, we spoke of
family and friends. The word Dragoon slipped out at one point and Mark told me his father
was a Dragoon during the Second World War. Of Course I was surprised knowing his father
for the better part of 40 years, we had only talk about the Regt I was part of in veiled
speech. Sgt Blair Lehuquet and I had supper at his son's family house in Brossard
Montreal and I gave Blair all the Regt/Corps books I could muster up and asked him to look
at them and see if he can find his era. Blair explained his routine as a Dragoon and the
way of life in combat during the WWII. I was extremely excited to hear about the Regt when
it was deployed in Europe during WWII. I let him know about the Regt and how well it's
doing. He is quite interested in our reunion in Windsor and the 2008 ceremonies Petawawa.
Now I have set the stage of what happened I was just wondering if you could drop the line
out with all the WWII vets that we know of and see if anyone remembers SGT or even Trooper
Blair Lehuquet. I would really like to set Blair up with an old friend from his time in
action. I contacted the archives and there is no mention of Blair, but if your a good
soldier you never are mentioned. Usually it's the bad cats that are in the news.
Having said all that please give this the widest distribution possible to find and old
friend for Blair to talk the talk and walk the walk. He is proud of his Regimental time
and my intent is to involve him is our activities. He does have problems getting around
long distances, however won't we all at one point.
