Less than four months till April 1, 2005. April 1 is the day that I would
like to have all of the registration forms in. The committee will make
final adjustments (improvements) to the reunion plan based on the number of
people we have registered on April 1, 2005. Almost all members should be
able to make the commitment by April 1 as we are accepting post dated
cheques and guarantee a full refund if you cancel on or before June 9,
2005. Now, you can not get a better deal than that so please send in your
registrations as soon as possible.
There is a major change to the "incentive prizes" for those who register
prior to April 1, 2005. Initially we had allocated hotel rooms and a
$100.00 cash prize. A decision was made at the reunion committee meeting
November 20, 2004 to reallocate the hotel rooms from the prize package. It
was decided to give them to the young serving Dragoons who will be
assisting us with the reunion, namely the Lance Bearers and the Kit Shop
personnel. We thought that it would be appropriate to have them stay in
the hotel rather than have them transported back and forth to the Base. I
remind you that there is still a draw for a $100.00 prize for early
registration.
NOTE: New, dated November 20, 2004, Registration Form reflects the latest
change. Please go to the RCD Association web site
<
http://members.rogers.com/rcd-association/index.html>. to get a copy of
the latest registration form.
The "Spouse Activity" scheduled to take place while members are at the
Annual General Meeting Saturday morning is proving to be more popular than
we expected. Over a third of the Ladies presently registered are intending
to go on the "Boat Tour" which will be a one and a half hour cruise of the
Thousand Islands in a large glass domed ferry boat. The 2005 cost for this
tour will be approximately $20.00. Another group of Ladies are interested
in the "City Tour" which will be a one hour "Trolley Tour" of central
Kingston, Royal Military College (RMC) and of Fort Henry. The 2005 cost
for this will be approximately $12.00. When we get firm prices for 2005 I
will forward them to you.
Due to the popularity of these "Spouse Activities" we have brought in the
"A" Team to plan, co-ordinate and escort you on these activities. The
"A"
Team consists of Terri Murdoch, Angie Roberts and Capt. Jim Roberts. Here
is a great opportunity not only to cruise the Thousands Islands but to do
it in the company of many friends. This, I am sure, will prove to be a
very memorable part of your reunion visit to the Limestone City, Canada's
First Capital City.

Theme for Reunion 2005
The theme for Reunion 2005 will be "The 60th Anniversary of the Liberation
of Holland". The Vice Consul of the Netherlands will be in attendance.
Presently we have three Holland Veterans booked to attend the reunion: Ed
Johnson, Percy Rescori & Don White.
I am hopeful that many more will join us. For those of you who are in
contact with other Holland Vets, please inform them of the special theme
for this reunion and offer them encouragement and assistance to attend this
reunion. These gentlemen are not young, many may not be on this MEANS and
they may very well appreciate this information and some assistance. Please
DO GO out of your way to make contact and see if you can offer them some
assistance.
I will be away from January 25th till March 10th and would appreciate
receiving your registrations prior to my departure rather than having to
deal with a large number on my return.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!
Stay Safe,
Tom
