Ladies and Gents
Please read below. This is the information provided by Dave Henderson for the last, I say
again last, Corps BBQ at the Milner's 26 July 2014. Please have the conversations, and
disseminate the information as widely as possible. It would be a nice send off for the BBQ
and a great Thank You from the Corps to Clive and Shirley.... Dave and his band of helpers
have done great work over the past 20 years to have a gathering point for us to enjoy each
others company within an Armour Corps Community. I ask that everyone take the time to
attend this year's final event and show the Milner's our appreciation for 20 years
of fun and Armour community spirit. We can only reach as many people possible through your
support.
Chris Catry, Don Craig, Dave McLeod Doug Seed, Muggsie
Could you please pass this on your Corps list, Director of Armour, your Serving
Member's list, the Assn for every unit in the Corps and on the HSGT list. I have
already placed this on dragnet, the RCD Assn Chairs, my Assn list and to Doug Seed for the
8CH. Dave McLeod has agreed to mention of this at Ironsides and to the LDSH(RC). There is
also a huge Reserve Component that over the years have been very supportive. I wish to
extend the invite to them also.
Now if everyone showed up, Well "Houston We'll Have a Problem" but I would
rather solve a Turret problem than have a Misfire.
Please, if possible let me know by group of possible numbers. The planning group will
attempt to react.
Using buddy system please bring all your requirements and RV with friends and drive to the
Milner's in your veh at max capacity. This would help. I also ask you don't reply
to all on any of the e-mails because there may be duplication of effort and this will be
troublesome for some of us on many of the lists.

ROYAL CANADIAN
ARMOURED CORPS BBQ 26 JUL
2014
MGen Clive &
Shirley Milner have informed me that this will be the last BBQ at their
residence in Kingston.
They have graciously been hosting the BBQ for two decades & it is time to
step down after their 21st time.
All serving &
retired members of the Corps and those who were attached to armoured units with
their families are cordially invited to attend the BBQ at 1572 Shore Rd,
Kingston, ON being organized with the help of the Kingston Chapter RCD
Association.
The event will be open
from 1300 hrs to 1900 hrs. BBQs will be fired-up around 1500 hrs. You are
requested to bring a donation gift (a bottle or two of wine or a bottle of
liquor, craft items, BBQ tools, handy garden or other work tools, outdoor camping
& picnic items are some suggestions).
The donations will be raffled off by the purchase of tickets to offset
the operating costs. Kindly email Blake Skippen at skip8CH(a)hotmail.com.xn--ivg so that he can
make up & display an acknowledgment card with your
kind donation.
Kindly bring your own folding
chairs, picnic tables, table cloths, food, liquid refreshments, etc. You are
asked to bring your own refuse bag to use & take with you on your
departure. We do not wish to overload the Milner’s with refuse as the city
pick-up is extremely limited. Port-a-potties will be available.
The Milner’s residence
is approx 12 km east of CFB
Kingston on hwy 2 on the south side which leads you approx 1km in.to their place.
Parking is available on their grounds or on adjacent properties either side
& along the south side of Shore Rd.. If you are travelling on hwy 401 take the
Joyceville Rd turn-off, proceed south approx 5km, turn east (left) &
proceed approx 3km to Shore Rd (on the right), proceed approx 1km to the event
site.
Just a reminder that
the Henry Sampson Memorial Golf Tournament is being held the day before at the
Smiths Falls Golf Club.
We do hope that you
will come to celebrate Clive & Shirley’s last time hosting the RCAC BBQ at
their home.
Sincerely, Dave Henderson
