It is very much regretted that the NCR Chapter announces the passing of
Edmond (Eddie) Blais of the RCD Association. Eddie passed away peacefully at
the Elizabeth Bruyere Hospital in Ottawa with his family at his side on 01
May 2012 in his 92nd year. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lt
Elizabeth Croft, his sister and his children and his grandchildren. Eddie
was the son of Brigadier General Edmond Blais and Laurette Paris.
Eddie was wounded in WWII in the Burma Campaign while serving with the 43rd
Indian Cavalry. He was also a Korean War veteran and served as a Military
Attaché in Washington and Brussels. He was also a proud employee of CIDA
from 1970 to 1985 after retiring from the Canadian Forces.
Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair &
McGarry, 315 McLeod Street at OConnor on Thursday 03 May from 1600 2000
hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Margaret Marys Parish at
7 Fairburn Street at Sunnyside on Friday 04 May at 1100 hours.
