Small point -- but those units stationed with the Cdn brigade in NATO
in Germany were not ever defined as peacekeeping missions.
It was never a matter of keeping peace between Germans and Russians or
any other group -- Cdn units were there in what we now call "war-
fighting" mode, ready with the rest of the NATO Allies to deter and
defend Western Europe against Soviet invasion.
