Hello Brian,
We haven't been in touch for a long time, unfortunately, too long. As you fully
understand, we old tankers are a hardy bunch. As a close friend said to me the
other day, "You guys never give up." How true. You and your family will be in my
prayers.

Subject: HEALTH
Hi everyone. I am writing this email to give you all a report on my
current state of health. Please excuse me for not phoning but this is
easier for me right now as I am still tired.
You all have email nets which I am hoping you will use to pass this info
on to others who know Jayne and me. Reminds me of the fan-out system we
used in Germany.
The cancer specialists in Toronto advised Jayne and me on Tuesday that the
cancer was inoperable. Apparently there is an indication that it is
more
advanced in the liver than originally believed. The gall bladder cancer
cannot be taken out because of that. It may also have moved into a couple
of lymph nodes.
My option now is chemotherapy which I should be starting after the results
of the biopsy and bone scan, which were done on Thursday, get to the
oncologist. The chemo will make it easier for a considerable bit of the
time left to me. I will not speculate on this amount since everything
they tell me is an average. I had always thought I was above average
although this has been disputed by some. In any event, it will happen
when it happens, probably sooner rather than later.
My spirits are still good. Jayne is my rock and my angel and I could not
be going through this without her.
Pray for us both.
Brian
