Murray will be missed by his many friends in SCO Chapter. He always
appeared for Warriors' Day parades every August in Toronto and marched
proudly with his fellow Dragoons.

Subject: PASSING OF IAN MURRAY RETTIE
Terry & Carl,
I was recently apprised of the passing of a member of the RCD Association
from the Southern Ontario Chapter, (Ian) Murray Rettie, of Norwich, ON.
Norwich is my home town, and Murray's son James is an Engineer LCol here
in Kingston and I've known them both essentially my entire life (Norwich
is a very small town), hence why I've come to get the information. If
this could please be passed on to the Association and certainly the
Southern Ontario Chapter, it would be greatly appreciated by the Rettie
family.
Murray Rettie served as a Dragoon in Germany from 50-53 but left the
Forces soon after and returned to the family farm in Norwich, where he
resided for the rest of his life. He passed away 12 Jan 10. Although I
don't have firm details, but James advises that the family is attempting
to set up a short Legion Service followed by a Memorial in the Norwich
United Church on the morning of Saturday 16 Jan 10. It is not their
intent to have a funeral service.
If I hear anything further I'll let you know. Your assistance in getting
the word out is much appreciated.
Chris
