Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
* Your List Administrator has just been informed by RootsWeb, the
corporation that actually operates our DragNet electronic mailing list, that
it is changing the mechanism that does all the work for us - from an entity
called "SmartList" to one called "Mailman".
* I have been afforded the opportunity to verify all the previous
settings for DragNet, which I have now completed. Hopefully, the transition
will be invisible to you, our subscribers. If there are any glitches, please
inform me at norm_ashton(a)rogers.com rather than informing the list. That way
I can, hopefully, fix the glitch before other subscribers become aware of
it.
