Hello again Eric, can I first of all thank you for the great help you've
given me.
As I said in my original message my gg grandparents were John Davies b c
1813 Llandanffraid-in-Elvel and Diana Jones b c 1818 Bettws Disserth. They
got married at Bettws Disserth on 8th February 1839. I have a copy of the
marriage certificate.
I had been looking for a Diana Ingram for many months without any success,
because that's what the birth certificate of one of her sons says is the
maiden name of Diana.
On contacting the Powys County Archives Office they suggested the above
marriage especially as R.Ingram was one of the witnesses.
I wonder if it is possible for someone to look at the church records for
Bettws Disserth to see whether a Diana Ingram ( or Jones ) was born there
around 1818 ?
It would certainly help to solve one of the mysteries of my family tree !
Best Wishes Godfrey

Hi Godfrey,
Bettws Church is approximately 1 1/2 miles north of Hundred House near
Bettws
Cottage and "Glan-yr-afon" (Glanaravon) is about 1/4 mile
further on. The
Church records are under the control of the local vicar and church warden,
most of which are in good condition. You will need a magnifying glass to
see
the + of the church.
Good Hunting and a Happy New Year.
Eric
