Subject: [POWYS] the rights & wrongs of Genealogy
Hello listers,
Im relatively new to the list,(researching the GALLIERS & ROGERS families
of
Powys & Herefs.)
Ive been reading the comments about the rights & wrongs of
Genealogy, i
recently restarted my interest in tracing my family history after a 20
year
gap! (owing to the purchase of this computer). I have to say that the vast
majority of listers on the several groups i have joined have been very
helpful. Unfortunately there will be the odd 1 or 2 whose comments will put
you off asking for help. In my case it seems im the only one researching my
family history which is frustrating sometimes, owing to work commitments i
am unable to visit record offices, so the internet is the only way i can
trace the family. Im guilty of asking for someone to look up the 1881 census
for me because i do not know if its available on the internet.( Is it?) ive
visited the village churches looking at gravestones of my family & ive had a
little success. If i & others ask for help from the more experinced
researchers its usually given, so on behalf of all of us newboys & girls,
thankyou.
