Hello David
According to the 1851 census, Henry Allen jnr was born in Westminster,
London c1793.
He and his wife Sarah Anne, born St. Mary's Brecon c1792 lived at'Oakfield'
in Hay-on-Wye.There were no children mentioned on the census, just their 5
servants. There are references in Kilvert's Diary where on more than one
occasion he dined at Oakfield with Mr. & Mrs. Allen and Mr. Allen's brother
Major Allen.
I also have a reference to a Rev. Humphrey Allen who endowed St. Mary's
Church in Hay in 1833, 2 years after his appointment there. It states that
his father lived in Glasbury. The Rev. H may have been a brother to Henry.
Hope this helps
