Could somebody who has easy access to the 1851 Census for
Montgomeryshire
possibly try to locate an entry/ies for the Gethin family in Berriew for me.
The correct 1881 Census entry is below.
Hi Michael
I have GETHYN on my family tree in Berriew.
My 3rd gt grandfather Richard ROGERS, tailor of Berriew, married Jane GETHYN
b 1775
on 3 Aug 1810 in Berriew. She died 4 Jan 1853 in Penthryn. Jane was the
second wife of Richard Rogers, his first wife was Catherine BULLOCK. I am
descended from one of his liasons with two other women, namely Elizabeth TANNER, who
bore him a son Edward.
Jane GETHYN's parents were John GETHYN and Catherine PUGH, married about
1755.
There are two other ladies on the Powys list who are also related to the
GETHIN/GETHYNs.
