Hello Judith,
The 1841 census for Vaynor Parish has not survived on Breconshire census
or Glamorganshire 1841
I remember checking for some families this year and then a fellow member
from Powys FHS as well. We went to National Library of Wales at
Aberystwyth earlier in the year and no trace could be found on their
records. Missing, presumed lost!
I have the 1841 census for Breconshire and 1841 for Glamorgan and
believe me...... zilch on Vaynor!
Glamorgan FHS has transcribed Vaynor Parish Church (St Gwynno) from 1714
to 1925 for marriages. Baptisms and burials as well. Some of these
records are missing and the transcribers have referred to BT's in these
cases.
See Parish Chest site for Sales.
best regards

The marriage cert I have just received states that my 2x great
grandfather was
married on 7 June 1841 at the Parish Church in Vaynor. It gives Cefn Ucha as
the address for both the bride and groom. The next step in my research would be
to access the 1841 Brecon census to see if he is listed. The problem is that
the only place I have found that holds the microfilm/fiche for the 1841 census
is the Brecon area library and I live in the U.S. I would appreciate advice on
how to solve this problem. Thank you . . . Judith
