I too have ancestors in St.Woolos in 1881, Dolphin STREET in fact. I
understand that the Dolphin St in St.W was distinct from Newport in 1881 but
today would probably be regarded as part of Newport itself.
If in doubt, I suggest you try the Monmouthshire list.

Hi, perhaps my Dolphin Place St Woolos and Dolphin St were the same.
I think my Thomas Peckham and Mary Ann [nee Snelling] living at ... got
married nearby,but I cant find anything.
Do you have any ideas ?
What number did your ancestors live ay, what religion and where did
anyone get married in that period, if so where.
