Hi Mary
The Royal Welsh Fusiliers (23rd Regiment) were based at Brecon for five
years until Monday 28th June 1830, when they departed for Plymouth and,
presumably, thereafter for Ireland.
The army records, including the general muster books and pay lists, are
available at the National Archives, Kew:
23rd Foot, 1st Battalion, 1829: WO 12/3982
23rd Foot, 1st Battalion, 1830: WO 12/3983
Perhaps someone may be doing similar research and know a little more
and/or be able to look up the relevant entries for you?
There should be useful genealogical information attached to Edward's army
record, but it's a research 'project', moving backwards and forwards
through successive muster books, rather than a single 'look-up' to tease
out what is required!
Best regards
