Hello Listers,
I just found my GG GM, Jane DAVIES in the 1861 Brecon Census with her
parents as follows:
Hamlet of Penbuallt - 1861 Breconshire
DAVIES William, h, m, 57, farmer 199 (49?) ac, BRE, Tynllwyn, c1804
DAVIES Mary, w, m, 53, BRE Llangamarch, Tynllwyn, c1808
DAVIES John, s, u, 21, BRE Llangamarch, Tynllwyn, c1840
DAVIES Jane, d, 15, BRE Llangamarch, Tynllwyn, c1846
I haven't been able to find the Hamlet of Penbuallt, but did find Tynllwyn
just on the southern edge of Abergwesyn. I have been unsuccessful in
locating the birth or christening/baptism of Jane or her brother John. I
did notice when looking at the "old maps" site that there were several
churches in Abergwesyn...St. David's, St. Michael's, and ? Chapel (I
couldn't read it).
Jane DAVIES was married Nov 26 1869 in The Parish Church of Llangammarch to
Edward R. JONES. Her father was listed as William DAVIES, Farmer. It also
stated that "Residence at time of Marriage" was Tynllwyn.
I know this is the correct family because Jane & Edward named their first
child Mary Jane after the mother and GM. Also, in the 1871 census Jane is
25 yrs. old and living with Edward R. in Gelligaer with their first child.
If anyone has access to these old records, I would appreciate any
information on the marriage of William DAVIES to Mary ?, or anything on the
birth/christening/baptisms of Jane and John.
I would also love to hear from anyone researching this family line!
Thank you in advance for your kind attention. Any efforts will be truly
appreciated.
