Hi Tricia,
I think that this is the Richard Davies you are looking for, although his
age seems to vary, although his wife and childrens ages seem to be OK.
Richard Davies was buried at Rhayader Parish Church on February 18th 1904.
Aged 71
He could well have lost his job as a jouneyman tanner, as the leather
industry was in decline, out of four tanneries in Rhayader only one survived
and is now at the Museum of Welsh Life, St Fagans, Cardiff.

Subject: [POWYS] 1891 census lookup please
Hi everyone,
I am looking for the family of Richard DAVIES, a tanner born ca 1829 who
on
the 1881 census was at 30 East Street, Rhayader. I would be grateful
if
SKS
could look him up on the 1891 census and tell me if he is still
there and
who
is with him please.
Kind Regards
Tricia Heseltine
