Hi
I have posted a couple of requests for help regarding some of my Great and
Great Great Jones Grandparents but alas no responses so far.
This part of my family seems to be a bit of a Mystery. What I have gathered
is that a Morgan Jones, who may have been born c1827 in Qwnnws,
Cardiganshire married a Mary........ (somewhere!) and they had two children
who according to some Census returns were born in Dyserth, Radnorshire or
Breconshire (both Counties have been shown art some time?)
The children were Mary Jones, born c1824, and Rees Jones, born c1827. I have
picked up the family living in Pantyrhedyn, Ysbtyy (or Ysptty) Ystwyth on
the 1841, 1851, 1861 and 1871.
Mary doesn't seem to have married during this time but has had children and
is actually shown as a Widow on one return?
Rees seems to have married a different Mary Jones and had Children but these
do not seem to include a Catherine Jones allegedly born c 1853 in
Pontrhydygroes.
Catherine, who married my Gt Gt Grandfather Roger Jones on 39 Nov 1872 in
Llanidloes says that her father was Rees but (if its this one) I have not
been able to find any sign of her being born to him or Mary nor indeed being
documented anywhere between 1853 and 1872.
Apart from the above plea for help can someone say why Dyserth should be
refereed to as in Radnorshire and Breconshire? The only Dyserth I can find
is in Denbighshire?
