Re-reading this Peggy, I note that in response to Margaret Crouch I
addressed my email to her and the Powys list. Is it a case of 'Wakey,
Wakey'?? LOL!
Best wishes, Jill

Hi Jill,
The original message was on behalf of Margaret Crouch, not me. I'm a
different Margaret.
My usual signature is below and is to help distinguish the Margarets, of
whom there are quite a few in my various groups. As an off topic side note,
The Margarets is a good book by Sheri Tepper.

Subject: [POWYS] Powys Roll Call
I have a number of family members I'm researching in the Powys
counties, and
several brick walls1
1. John WIGLEY was a land surveyor in the 18th century. I have found
him in
Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire but no trace of where he came from.
I know
there was a family of this name in Llanbrynmair in the 19th century
and
wonder if there was a connection?
2. EVANS family of Llanbrynmair in the 19th century. Abraham Evans
was a
weaver, aged 45 in the 1841 census. His parents might have been Evan
Thomas
and Eliza.
3. Llewelyn DAVID and Elizabeth JONES of the Vaynor area of
Breconshire at
the end of the 18th century. They married in Merthyr Tydfil in 1812
and may
have been baptised there. They spent the rest of their lived farming
in
Glamorgan a few miles south of Merthyr Tydfil, but are buried in
Vaynor
churchyard I believe, as is one of their sons, Llewelyn Davies. Why
would
they do that?
Any help would be appreciated.
Margaret
