I also looked at the Mont. marriages, with little definite. With all the
children born out of Mont. though, the marriages could be anywhere.
Ancestry has a lot of marriages for Lancs and Liverpool, I believe
covering about 50% of the county for some dates.
I also looked at the marriage bonds on the NLW site, and the only other
one that caught my eye had the bride in a parish in Denbighshire.
With the occupation broker, which sounds quite lofty, I'm guessing they
were well-off. Have you looked for a will of either the husband or wife.
In a few cases I've been able to trace families who moved to Wales, back
to their home-town as they mentioned property they owned in that place
in their wills.

Dear Irene,
The task you have set is akin to selecting a particular King Edward potato
from a bag of potatoes-hard at the best of places but in Wales? Well!!! just
about impossible.
To get more information I thought I'd start with the marriage of Thomas
Edward in Montgomeryshire to an Elizabeth??. I set the year as 1815 plus or
minus 5 years(as you said she was born in 1792) and in the period there were
77 marriage records no less. I've not completed the search yet but these
names came up so far:
5 Jan 1814, Thomas Edwards ( Officer of Excise) m Elizabeth Davies, Licence,
Llanidloes.
5th May 1815, Thomas Edwards m Elizabeth Pratt, Banns, Llanrhaiadr ym
Mochnant.
14th September 1818, Thomas Edwards m Elizabeth Davies, Banns, Berriew.
13th November 1818, Thamas Edwards M Elizabeth Williams, Banns, Llanfyllin.
I'd redouble efforts to find further snippets of information to help
searchers narrow down the field. I'll come back at a later date and add to
the list above.
The name Edwards always raises a smile or two for me. An old school pal,
Clive tells me the tale when he was caught speeding by a Policemen. After a
few words the Policeman took his book out and asked the driver for his name:
P C Edwards was the reply. A long meaningful look followed with the copper
eventually mumbling you should have told me right away and returned his book
to his breast-pocket. Yes!! it paid to belong to the bretheren all those
years ago.

They had four children:
