Hi Annon,
Yes, that was my thought too. It is definitely written as "Llawdlaes",
though. The 'ni' and the 'o' could quite easily have been mistranscribed
as
'w' and 'a' by the enumerator, though, so I think we can be reasonably
confident that 'Llanidloes' would have been what was written on the
householder's return.

My guess is this (Llawdlaes) is Llanidloes, which is in South West
Montgomeryshire. Without more information it will be hard to trace this
back further.

Hi Irene,
In 1841 there was a Thomas Edwards with wife Elizabeth, neither born in
county, living in Bostock Street, Liverpool. They had four children living
with them, all born in county: Thomas 15, Richard 12, Hannah 8 and Jane 6.
Thomas's age shown as 50 and Elizabeth's 45, which means that they were
born
1786-91 and 1791-96 respectively. Thomas's occupation is shown as
"Broker".
By 1851 this family had moved to 171 Bootle Lane, West Derby:
Thomas Edwards, 65, Commission Agent, born Caermasthewshire (exactly what
it
says!) South Wales
Elizabeth Edwards, 59, no occupation, born Llawdlaes Montgomeryshire
Jane Edwards, 16, Schoolmistress, born Liverpool
Hannah appears to be working as the only servant in the household of James
Mills, Grocer and Provision Dealer, at 168 London Road, Liverpool:
Hannah Edwards, relationship - servant, unmarried, 17, servant, born
Lancashire Liverpool
The 1861 census finds Thomas and Elizabeth at 3 Clarence Grove Everton:
Thomas Edwards, Head, Married, 75, Bookkeeper, born Carmarthenshire
Elizabeth Edwards, Wife, Married, 69, -, born Mongomershire
Joseph Brewer, Son-in-Law, Married, 29, Bookkeeper, born Liverpool
Jane Brewer, dau, married, 26, -, born Liverpool
Annie J Brewer, D (?), 3, Scholar, born Liverpool
Elizabeth C Brewer, do, 2, - , born Liverpool
Mary A Brewer, do, 2 mo, - , born Liverpool
Despite the anomaly of the two extra sons and extra daughter, Jane, I
think
there is a pretty good chance that this is the Thomas and Elizabeth you
are
looking for.

Hello, This week I found I had ancestors from Montgomeryshire. Could sks
please find where they may have lived?
Thomas Edwards - Head
Elizabeth Edwards - wife b. 1792
They had four children:
Elizabeth b. 1814
Mary b. 1826
Aliceb. 1831

As far as I am aware most of them were from Montgomeryshire.
