Page 16 of last week's issue of the Brecon & Radnor Express included the
following Public Notice:

The Presbyterian Church of Wales gives notice under the Disused Burials
(amendment) Act 1981.
That
It is the intention to remove 24 Headstones from the left hand section of
the cemetery closest to the chapel and relocate them within the graveyard.
Penuel Chapel, Brecon Road, Bwlch, Brecon, Powys, LD3 7RQ.
It is the right of personal representatives or relatives of the deceased to
undertake the removal of Headstones within two months of the date of this
notice if they wish to do so.
A schedule of the Headstones to be relocated is displayed within the
cemetery.

Penuel Chapel is at grid reference SO14972207. According to the Coflein
database of the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments of
Wales, it was first built in 1817 and rebuilt in 1844, 1863 and 1874. It
underwent further works in 1895. The present chapel dates from 1874.
Anyone who thinks the grave of their ancestor(s) may be involved should
follow up this notice as soon as possible.
I hope to visit the chapel myself in the next couple of days, and photograph
the headstones that are under threat of relocation. I will post an update on
this List when I have done so.
