Shirley
May I ask if this question relates to your Mantle family research?
My great great grandparents, William Mantle and Sarah Lawrence, married at Bwlch-y-Sarnau
Baptist chapel on 16 July 1870 - so exactly a decade earlier than the date on the
certificate to which you refer.
Best
Derek

Subject: [POWYS] Bwlch-y-sarnau chapel RAD
I have a marriage certificate for a wedding which took place at 'Bwlchsarney
Chapel' on 16 July 1880. I have found details of the Bwlch-y-sarnau Baptist Chapel
(including on John's website - thank you!), but this certificate says that the
marriage took place 'according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Independents'.
Does anyone know whether there was also an Independent/Congregational chapel at
Bwlch-y-sarnau, or whether this can refer to the Baptist chapel? (Some later members of
the family were indeed Baptists.) The minister's name is given as David Davies.
Many thanks, Shirley
