Thanks for your reply. I have used the Commonwealth War Graves successfully
in the past when I looked for the name of my great uncle but I thought it
was just for those who had died and my grandfather survived. I will
however, take another look at it.

I think you need the CWGC.org.uk website (Commonwealth War Graves
Commission). Just enter the lost Serviceman's or Service Womans name, etc,
and
you
will get much info re the Graves and Cemeteries. There is another one
for
US
Service people too if you ever need it, and more cwgc data is found
on
Google.
