Gwyn,
Would you be willing to share some of your information on the Glamorgan Vaughans? I am
wondering if we might be researching the same family. I have Vaughans that lived in the
Merthyr Tydfil area, but others in Talgarth. They were from Glasbury, born late 1700s to
early 1800s (1798 - Samuel to 1817 Charles). At least two went on to the mines in
Merthyr, another to a different mining area (John) and Charles ended up farming in
Talgarth area.
DO you think there's any connection?
Kathy

Subject: [POWYS] VAUGHAN - Glasbury
Hello again,
William VAUGHAN married to Margaret MEREDITH in Glasbury was my 4x Great
Grandfather. (this info was kindly given to me some time ago, I am not
certain if they belong to this list). One of their sons also William moved
to Llandovery where he married. My 2x Great Grandmother was born there
before moving on to other parts of Carmarthen, Aberdare and Morriston. Many
of the children had Vaughan as their middle name which helps a lot (since
she became an Evans!!).
I have concentrated up to now on the Glamorgan lot and have been slowly
moving backwards and would now like to find out a little more about the
Glasbury lot (and indeed Glasbury itself).
Gwyn
