An ancester of mine was born in Cascob in 1787. Unfortunately I do not have a maiden name.
She moved to Gillingham in Kent to have 2 children (but may have been somewhere else
first) and died in Nottingham so was very well travelled. As a long-shot I wondered if I
could find out if she was married in Cascob before she left (as she dosent appear to have
been married in Kent). Ann married a William Tennant who was a soldier probably in about
1810/20. I dont think he's from Cascob though as there are no Tenannts in the area in
1841/51. I think its a scottish name. Do you know where I could find any evidence of a
marriage in this area at this time? Were there any barracks in the area? If she wasnt
married before she left why would she have travelled to Kent? In 1861 census it sais she
was a Fund Holder?
Any help would be gratefully recieved as I am pretty stuck with this one. I dont live too
far from Cascob so could travel there - but Nottingham and Kent are a bit far out!!
