I took a look at what is purported to be in the Red Book. It seems to relate
to those holding property in the time of Henry II but it seems not to
include Wales.
I'd be delighted to hear otherwise as I'm sure would others.

Hi All,
Does anyone here know about the "Red Book of the Exchequer"? I believe it
to
be a record of 12th/13th century court cases, but that is all I
know.
The reason for my interest is that Ancestry.co.uk claim to have a
reference
to a Bebb in this book in their database. I am a little dubious about
this,
especially as their web site asks for money before I was able to get
even
a
title for the entry, and some of their searches are a little generous
with
spellings.
But I would like to know a little more!
Cheers,
Malcolm
