Hello All, I thought I would publish to the list as others may find
it of
interest. I found one Gwilliam baptism from St Mary's.... it wasn't
the most
detailed of searches given the weekend that it was. Alice Kate Gwilliam was
baptised on the 11th August 1872 her Parents were William and Sarah
Gwilliam...... William was a publican. There were a few Lovett baptisms
two of which belong to John and (H?)Esther Lovett Harry baptised June 23rd
1867 and John baptised Aug 13th 1871......John being a Labourer. There was
a Thomas and Elizabeth Lovett who had a daur. Margretta (looks like it) Oct
30th 1870 ...Thomas being a Railway porter. There was a Charlotte Thomas
born Nov 2nd and baptised Nov 4th 1809 parents being William and Ann Thomas.
I couldn't find the Thompson marriage or Cole's but there were a number of
entries far too faded. There is a Sam Cole mentioned in the book that I gave
earlier......also there was a high class milliner by the name of Gwilliam at
Paris Hous!
e, Hay 1922. I think that's it .....I had great luck....managed
to meet a
nice lady who is a Grandaughter to the brother of my Mother's
Grandfather...... quite a find really considering my G Grandfather left Hay
c1892.....plenty of info to go with it too! That's it for now..... for those
of you who have considered visiting Hay and the surrounding area, do your
self a favour and take a look for yourself. Regards,Kevin, Co Cork,Ireland.
