The few baptisms that have survived run from the
late 1820's till the the mid 1830's..there are no Hamers baptised or
being recorded as born during that period in the Carmel Independent records.
I can however, help you with two of the children as I do have
transcripts of registered births..
John Hamer, son of Thomas & Mary (nee Davies) was born at Stonypark,
Nantmel on 4th March 1840. Susannah was born at the same place on 29th
Dec 1843. Stonypark is/was a little 'Tyr Y Nos" on the Ysfa common.
The foundations of that tiny cottage could still be seen in what is now
some forestry plantation in the last 10 years. Thomas Hamer's
occupation was given as carpenter.
