You could see if the people you are after are listed (provided they
aren't ex directory). Keep the search generic, as Welsh house names /
streets often get misspelt.
Norma suggested the local newspaper. The main local for MGY is the
County Times:
http://www.countytimes.co.uk/
Beware, this paper has more than one edition, so make sure you get the
advert in the right one / area.
www.genesreunited.co.uk is also good way of getting in touch with
living relatives in the UK. This is the most successful way I've had,
and appears to be a bit more mainstream for getting in touch with
people who might not be into genealogy in a big way (simply because of
the success for Friends Reunited / its the same company). This
weekend a cousin of my dad's got in touch with me, and he hasn't seen
her since 1961! I've had about 5 other living relatives contact me
this way.
Rootsweb I find is much more useful for discussion, ancestors and
being in touch with more hard core genealogists :-)
It is also worth checking
www.friendsreunited.co.uk too, as many
people sign up for this but not Genes. (Especially good if you have
an idea where they went to school / how old they are).
I know both these sites are commericial, and I dislike sites that
aren't open source, but the fact remains a lot of people out there use
them. You can still check either site for suitable names without
parting with the 7.50 subscription should you need to contact anyone.
Apologies for the commericial nature of this post, just wanted to give
you my personal experience.

Looking for Maggie Woolley...married Charles Jones.
She is/was the first cousin of my wife's grandmother...we recently found letters
exchanged in 1985. The address at the time was New House, Burgedin, Llanymynech,
Powys...don't know if this is still a valid address.
Daughter Anona married John Humphreys...had Nigel, Julie and David.
Daughter Dilys married Richard Thomas...had Bethan, Christine, Anne.
If anyone knows of these people or a means to find them, please let me know. We'd
like to "expand" this branch of the family and/or just make contact.
